Lipoproteins

Lipoproteins are complexes of protein and lipids, which function in the transport of fat-soluble components in the blood.

According to different density in ultracentrifugation, several classes of lipoproteins can be differentiated:

  •      chylomicrons
  •      VLDL (very low density lipoproteins)
  •      LDL (low density lipoproteins)
  •      IDL (intermediate density lipoproteins)
  •      HDL (high density lipoproteins)
