Deterioration of renal functions may lead to kidney failure in extreme cases, resulting in a dialysis or transplantation deemed necessary. numares aims to develop an AXINON® test to detect impaired kidney functions. Based on the interpretation of the urine-based metabolic profiles, a prediction superior to the currently customary measurement of creatinine is numares' goal. The results can be used for medical decisions about dialysis necessities.
numares started a new prospective study dealing with Acute Renal Injury Biomarker Discovery by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, called ARIADNE. It is numares' goal to develop diagnostic tests for the AXINON® system using metabolic profiles which are one one hand able to detect an acute kidney injury at an early stage and on the other hand predict need for renal replacement therapy during course of the disease.
